If you are experiencing that nagging feeling that you are “stuck” in your grief, you are not alone. But feeling stuck and being stuck are two different things. In my experience, grief moves at a much slower pace that most people expect. So rather than trying to plow through the pain, or berating yourself for not “doing grief right” (whatever that is!), in this module we are going to slow things down and explore the common “roadblocks” that all humans face in grief and in life. These Five Mental Hindrances as defined in Buddhist philosophy are common to everyone regardless of religion, and each has an antidote that will be revealed in this module.
- Describe the Five Mental Hindrances that cause human suffering.
- Explore the relationship between common humanity and overcoming personal obstacles.
- Identify the antidotes that will help you get unstuck.
